The screws in this piece represent Chinese workers producing our electronic devices, most likely in sweatshops. Having taken apart many devices to form a collection of bits and pieces, I was inspired to do this work by remembering a photo by Edward Burtynsky of the work floor in a Chinese electronics factory.
